Daniel Pratt

​

With a coaching career spanning over a decade, Daniel Pratt is known for his strategic acumen and strong focus on relationships and player development. A former AFL player with North Melbourne, he played 119 games between 2004 and 2011, establishing himself as a reliable and tough defender. His playing career not only honed his football skills but also built a foundation for his leadership style, marked by resilience, honesty, loyalty, and a commitment to team success.

After transitioning into coaching, Pratt quickly made a name for himself in various roles across the AFL. He was a key part of the West Coast Eagles’ coaching staff during their 2018 premiership run, contributing significantly to the team’s tactical preparation. He also led the West Coast Eagles' AFLW program and WAFL program simultaneously, focusing on nurturing young talent and building a competitive team culture.

In 2024, Pratt took on a new challenge with the Western Bulldogs, where his immediate impact earned him the AFLCA Assistant Coach of the Year award. Currently completing a psychology degree, he brings a deeper understanding of mindset and well-being to his leadership approach. His ability to build strong relationships, adapt to modern athletes' needs, and remain calm under pressure sets him apart as a mentor and coach in the leadership realm.

Nathan Van Berlo

 

Nathan Van Berlo is a highly regarded figure in Australian football, both for his leadership on the field and his growing influence as a coach. A former captain of the Adelaide Crows, Van Berlo played 205 games, known for his tireless work ethic and ability to unite those around him. Following his playing career, he joined the coaching ranks, first with the West Coast Eagles, where he was part of the coaching group during their 2018 premiership campaign.

Now a member of the Adelaide Crows coaching staff, Van Berlo continues to apply his strong leadership skills, focusing on player development and team culture. His business interests outside of football also reflect his strategic thinking and ability to manage multiple demands effectively. Van Berlo’s calm and composed approach, both in football and business, positions him as an emerging leader with a diverse and adaptable skill set.

In his coaching role, Van Berlo has demonstrated a strong ability to mentor younger players, helping them navigate the transition into the elite levels of AFL. His focus on fostering a resilient team culture, combined with his tactical awareness, has earned him high praise within the club and beyond. Van Berlo's holistic approach to leadership, where he integrates personal development with performance goals, has made him an integral part of the Adelaide Crows’ future vision.

Andrew Raines

 

Andrew Raines is a rising figure in the Australian football coaching landscape, recognized for his dedication to player development and leadership. A former AFL player with a career spanning 129 games across three clubs—Richmond, Brisbane, and Gold Coast—Raines was known for his defensive prowess and work ethic on the field. His playing career, highlighted by his ability to overcome challenges and adapt to various roles, laid the foundation for his future in coaching.

 

Now based on the Gold Coast, Raines has transitioned into coaching and development roles, bringing his wealth of playing experience and leadership insights to the next generation of footballers. He plays a significant role in game development through his business, One on One Coaching, which connects coaches with athletes in their selected sports. Raines built this innovative platform from scratch, reflecting his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to mentoring young talent.

 

Raines' leadership is characterized by his focus on building resilience, mental toughness, and fostering a growth mindset in his players. His ability to connect with athletes on a personal level, combined with his technical understanding of the game, makes him an influential figure in football coaching. As a leader, Raines continues to shape the future of Australian football through both his hands-on coaching and innovative approaches to player development
